What we can learn from Autumn Calabrese’s Inborn Voice to improve voice affected by intense training
This is the eighth video I release on my Patreon page and my Youtube Channel! There will be more and I can’t wait to show you them all!
Autumn Calabrese has for sure Italian ancestors, as her family name comes from “Calabria”, one of the most beautiful regions of Italy. What I really like about her is passion. I decided to talk about Autumn because she’s a successful fitness coach, like many of my clients that are personal trainer or fitness enthusiast. Whenever you train your body without considering the possible setbacks, it’s very easy to ruin your voice as the diaphragm, the main respiratory muscle, is also trained by the exercises, but usually in a way that is incompatible with speaking.
Generally speaking all good coaches, like business coaches or life coaches, are fit people, so this flaw can show up very easily. Whenever you have to motivate le or guide people, or you use your voice as your main work instrument, developing bad voice habits can put a huge stop to your career.
If you find yourself gasping for air during a fitness activity is ok, but if you have to speak during these moments or if you find yourself gasping for air while having a speech, then there is a problem that a vocal coach can identify and resolve.
Autumn has also the tendency to speak very very fast, and when anyone does that, is impossible to express and transmit correctly any emotion or clear messages. If you want to have a believable and trustworthy voice, then emotions cannot be skipped away, especially for a coach. You need to select the words that you want to say in relation to the main emotions you are living.
Autumn has sometimes also a nasal or a teenager’s voice. These flaws can be perfectly fine but when you’re a public figure that take great care of every aspect of your appearance during an interviews, then you can’t forget your voice. People will not remember how you were dressed, the words you say, but your voice. People will not be able to tell whenever they will see the same dress you were wearing or someone else will say the same words, but rest assured everyone will recognize your voice even over the radio.
I really want to thanks Autumn because I see the value and the motivation that are inside her and the many weight that are on her shoulders.
