Mylena Vocal Coach aired over RAI Italia

Today it has been broadcasted on RAI, in the program L’Italia con Voi, dedicated to Italians abroad, an interview that has been delivered in New York.

Accidents don’t exist and whoever follows me will know that I accompanied Giovanni Scialpi to the RAI show “Ora o Mai più” conducted by Amadeus and with Jessica Morlacchi as guest. Well, the episode of the show opened with Jessica, followed by Amadeus and immediately afterwards my interview. I take this opportunity to send a big hug to Amadeus and to all the cast of the show, but also to all the operators of the Studio!

But let’s see at my interview (with captions):

Here is the transcript:

First, however, I must launch the next report by Andrea Fumagalli.
We go to New York and hear a vocal coach
Oh, great!
Milena Origgi is a vocal coach originally from Busto Arsizio (Italy)
After an experience in London, Milena has moved to Boston three years ago

Tonight she is in New York to present her book “The Way of the Voice” in which she illustrates her method of voice training: Inborn Voice®

This method is the only one in the world that does not try to introduce new knowledge into the people, but tries to extract, to remove, to let out, to remove, errors or incorrect learning, to free completely our ability, our vocality and all our expressiveness!

I carry the flag of Italy high for its “craftsmanship” concept

My classes open in at least three ways.
Generally they are lessons that deal with vocality at a practical level for those who choose the “technical” part than the first place, therefore the exercises are not exercises like the usual vocalisations but they are almost mute exercises, done in silence.
And yet the voice gets better!
And that’s the first magic.
Second magic: some people ask me to go even deeper so here we start in the second part of this method and it is the “emotional” part, as well as the technique.
People begin to improve their socializing attitude, couples talk to each other and improve their communication.
Third and last part that the most complex and I must say almost 3-4% of my clients is that advanced: the Vocal Alignment®.
What it means is that not only is there a link with the external and internal voices, but this is reflected in the universe in all that we encounter on a quantum physical level, but above all, of course, it is clear that it is also on a spiritual level.
I’ve always wanted to live in the United States since I started traveling when I was 16 and I didn’t exactly plan to do this but I definitely thought I would be successful and so I never gave up and determination was the main element.

Tonight’s event is organized by Learn Italy, an agency that promotes the spread of Italian culture and language.

We organize events to promote Italian talent to promote Italian excellence that are many and with the event tonight we launched a new series of projects called “Talents on the net” so we will bring to America especially in the city of New York talents that may be a Vocal Coach as today in the case of Milena or may be creators of fashion or experts in food and wine and similar things.

Our agency is also important in terms of the formation of Italian culture in the world. In fact, for several years we have been carrying out post-graduate and post-graduate courses of higher education and in addition we are authorized and recognized by the University for Foreigners of Siena for courses in Italian language and culture in particular aimed at all those who want to achieve internationally recognized certifications such as CILS, which is the certificate of Italian as a foreign language that is valid for universities for access to our country for applications regarding citizenship, study visas and more.

I am very happy about an evening like this because training institutions like Learn Italy USA have managed to build a bridge over the Atlantic by networking the Italian talents who are making their mark abroad because this is our wealth, our culture, our intelligence to discover new paths through which to help us to become better.

a greeting then to Milena Origgi and also Silvana Mangione of the General Council of Italians Abroad, who was also our guest a few weeks ago together with the members of the presidential committee.

The Art of Keeping an Healthy Voice

How to make it survive in the Internet jungle

From today you will find in all bookshops, even online, my new eBook titled “The Art of Keeping a Healthy Voice”.

It’s a 100-page eBook that includes much of the experience I’ve gained over the years while working and by receiving dozens and dozens of emails every day with desperate or disillusioned requests for help from people who somehow are no longer able to use their voices in everyday life.

My social commitment has been known for a long time. In addition to the various activities that go unnoticed, I always reply in person to all the emails I receive and I always offer everyone a voice assessment session directly with me. This may seem little, but on the practical side it keeps me very busy.

Based on the emails I receive, it seems that the DIY training and especially the tutorial videos on YouTube are at the basis of many jeopardized voices. Since it would be reckless for me to point out everything as “harmful” or “incompetent”, I preferred to give you a way to figure out by yourself when something is definitely to be avoided and not professional.

In the attempt to “save” at least some of these people in the first place, since the topic of “vocal health” is very important to me, I decided to make this ebook also available free of charge via my website.

I ask you to help me spread it as much as possible through your social networks, your blogs or any other website. The only recommendation is to share the link where to download the eBook and not the eBook itself. Sharing the link means sharing this page:

https://www.inbornvoice.com/us/art-of-keeping-a-healthy-voice.html

and not its content, because the book is protected by copyright and sharing the PDF would cause you unnecessary problems.

Here is where you can download the free eBook “The Art of Keeping a Healthy Voice” by Mylena Vocal Coach.

The eBook includes my 5 golden rules, 28 practical tips and 25 testimonials so that you can understand the magnitude of the problem.

For those who prefer paper or use a Kindle device, I asked the publisher to release it at a very low price, so you’ll find it really cheap.

Principles You Must Follow in Order to Avoid the Awkward Silence

conversation

Have you ever attended a social gathering, walked up to the stranger, talked for 5 minutes, then never speak with them again? We all know that you would not become friends with everyone you ever met. However, as our life goes on, we do have the need to constantly develop new friendships. Friendships also change as interactions with each other can increase or decrease, for example, you talked to your college friends every day in college but the interactions dropped off when some of them moved back to the place where they came from after graduation. That is okay and that’s why we need to start new conversations and develop new relationships with new people.

Starting a conversation happens basically anywhere, from career fairs to coffee shops and it is an important skill to pick up in life. So, we are here to tell you what you are doing wrong that resulted in an awkward 5-minute conversation.

  1. No Questions Please!!!

In a family gathering like Thanksgiving, you often see relatives that you only see once a year. You are probably annoyed by the same questions these relatives throw at you every single time such as “What do you do” & “Where do you live”. It is no different when you meet a stranger, nobody likes to answer those questions or they even have created a script for those questions. Also, we think we should all know questions like “What are you doing this weekend?” or “What’s going on” are not going to lead you to anywhere and just end in an awkward silence.

Let’s make this clear, we are not encouraging you to not ask questions but our objective is to get people to talk more about them. It is important to know not to ask questions in order to start conversations. We don’t want to bore our counterparts and make them nervous which resulted in a premature end.

  1. Don’t be Negative

We all have our feelings and sometimes it is okay to express your negative feelings and opinions to someone you know well. However, in some situations, people would be turned off by the negative opinion or sometimes insults. Here’s quick story to illustrate my point.

Hotel Receptionist: Where are you from?

Me: Boston

Hotel Receptionist: I hate Boston. I went there last winter and the snow freaked me out. Not going to visit again for a long time.

Me: Uh…

I get that it does snow a lot in Boston, but there is no need to bash on the place where I live. Not only did I receive the negative opinion about my city but also ended the conversation quickly.

  1. Compliment

If a friend or a co-worker changed their hairstyle, you can say, “You got a haircut?” or “Your hair looks great!” Both deliver the same message but you can clearly tell the latter is the better choice. When you make a compliment, it is crucial to make sure you deliver your message clearly. A compliment like “You smell like you just came back from the beach. No one can tell if that is a compliment or an insult other than the speaker himself. However, we all can tell that is not a great conversation starter.

In order to keep the conversation going after a compliment, you can ask a question. Wait, what happen to the no question part? Yes, that is true but you can ask a question that won’t annoy people. Let’s illustrate this point with a story that happened to me, I recently purchased a pair of new shoes and walked into the office. My co-worker asked me, “I like your shoes, where did you get it?” Not only this started a conversation but it is also a compliment. After I told him the location, she told me, her brother’s birthday is coming up and that would be a perfect gift for him.

It could be difficult for people start a conversation with a stranger. However, by making that first step and keeping that conversation going, you could end up with a great friendship. By following the 3 principles above, you would never have the awkward 5-minute conversation again.

How does the Way We Speak Influence Our Brain

Did you know the way we speak had an influence on our personality and our brain? Our 5 senses, sight, hearing, taste, smell, and touch affects how we see the world and how we communicate with each other either in writing or speaking.

Since the way we think is reflected by the way we speak, thus if we train ourselves speak in a better and more complete manner, we are effectively and continuously changing the neural pathway of our brain. As a result, the way we think will change also.

For example, every culture on our planet has a different way of mindset and thus has a different way of communicating. This can be seen when people of different cultures speak the same language with an accent. Americans write in American English but someone from California speaks differently than someone from Massachusetts.  A person from England speaks and writes differently than someone from Australia. It is more prevalent when a person who speaks English as a second language. Someone from Japan has a totally different mindset than someone from Spain and thus may hinder their ability to express themselves when they use English to communicate with each other. All these differences have proven to develop different brainwaves and neural connections inside our brain.

It is important to not forget that our brain is something that works with sound, images, tastes, touch, smell. When we communicate, we always choose to narrow our internal reality to a single word. Let’s think back and count how many times you use the word “awesome”, “absolutely”, “sure”, “amazing”. They are a representation of different ideas that came across your mind when you communicate with other people.

With that being said, it is crucial to learn how to speak better by taking voice & speech lessons from a professional voice coach.
