Sociolinguistics, first impression, and prejudice linked to the way we speak
Every day we relate ourselves to society and other people. As we grow up, we have learned to “recognize” certain aspects of these interactions by constructing “first impressions” and thus “biases.” These automatisms can be related to all five of our senses, I would even say to our “sixth sense.” Without going into the details of the consequences of these prejudices, which are personal, we are all prone to react when faced with people who smell bad, who are not dressed decently or who speak strangely. This is precisely why we have learned to wear perfume, wear fancy clothes and…?
Taking care of your voice
Indeed, few people realize that the way they speak also creates a first impression, in this case a vocal impression. For example, a regional or foreign accent can prove a winning ally in the small province and a bitter enemy at the national level in generating trust, sympathy or otherwise.
According to the latest statistics survey, the average american spends about 9 percent of his or her income on clothing and another 4 percent on accessories, clearly trying to impress others with a good visual and scented image, however, very few people understand that there is little point in being fully dressed and smelling good if then when you open your mouth the whole built-up scaffolding collapses because of an accepting, emotionality related to anxiety, fear or some other trait clearly and unconsciously perceptible by hearing.
Professional voice and interpersonal voice
The way a person speaks and is using his or her voice should be treated on the same level as clothing. Many managers become good at using their voice in their work at the expense of their personal love and family life because they are unable to change their vocal attitude when they are no longer in the office. And the opposite is also true. So many people fail to advance in their careers despite their high professionalism because of some communication barrier related to the way they speak or express emotions with their voice.
Are you aware of the importance of voice and emotions?
If you were not aware of it. Now you are.
If you were already aware of it, you now have no excuse to keep procrastinating. The “I don’t have time” argument doesn’t even resonate with you because continuing on a life path that has you running in circles is clearly wasted time.
Who can benefit from an Inborn Voice Coaching course?
Everyone, even those who feel they have no complaints can benefit from an Inborn Voice course, but there are some categories that could benefit greatly of a monetary or personal nature even with less than 8 hours of training.
- People who want to find love
The mistake most people make in this sphere is to present the potential partner with a version of themselves that does not exist. They hide their essence because of some negative emotion, maybe just shyness, and in the long run all relationships fall apart because sooner or later all masks fall off. Being able to express one’s deep emotions is another distinguishing feature of the Inborn Voice method. - Parents who want to raise independent and resourceful children
Very often children tend to develop a vocality similar to their parents’, or a vocality completely dissonant and opposite to their own, depending on whether there is harmony or conflict in the family. These vibrations, this way of expressing oneself will then permeate throughout the children’s social and working relationships so it is good for parents to learn them, themselves, how to communicate with their children in a balanced way that is connected to their true emotions, without lying. True and connected communication is another feature of the Inborn Voice method
How can the Inborn Voice method help you make the right first impression and overcome prejudice?
There are many, relatively undemanding ways to approach the Inborn Voice method. The first is to book a voice assessment session down below. In less than an hour you will be more aware of your own voice and how much it is working against your expectations or not. The second is to attend a one-day Executive Voice Coaching Workshop. This will not only make you aware of your own vocals, but you will also begin to understand your own vocal identity and how it can help you in all your life choices.
