TedX Courmayeur: Milena Origgi – Speaker 2025

Participating in a TEDx event is always a special experience, but the 2025 edition of TEDx Courmayeur brings with it a particular energy. The theme, “New Roots,” speaks of connections and transformations, of what anchors us and what propels us toward the future. It is precisely in this space suspended between identity and change that Mylena Vocal Coach, an internationally recognized voice for her unique ability to bring out the authentic essence of each person, will take the stage. The themes of identity and voice are central to the experience of defining one’s personal brand according to the Inborn Voice method.

Milena Origgi, aka Mylena Vocal Coach, will bring to the stage not only her more than thirty years of experience offering coaching to entrepreneurs, top managers, and prominent figures on the international scene, but also a profound vision: the voice as an inner root, capable of nourishing every choice, every gesture, every relationship. The roots she will talk about are not limited to memory or tradition, but are intertwined with breath, energy, and awareness. It will be a journey within oneself, where transformation is not imposed from the outside, but sprouts from the soul.

The audience will experience a rare moment: discovering that the voice is not only a tool for communication, but also the invisible thread that connects who we have been and who we can become. In a context such as TEDx, where ideas and perspectives come together to create new connections, Mylena’s talk will be an invitation to cultivate strong and flexible inner roots, capable of withstanding adversity while expanding toward new horizons.

[Music]

Oh oh oh! Now it wasn’t supposed to come out that bad. Perfect. That’s fine. That’s fine. [Music] Perfect. Great. So, good evening everyone. It’s a pleasure to meet you, and I hope you’ll enjoy not only what I’ll say, but also what the others will share. Tonight’s theme is identity and the voice — energy, frequency, and vibration.

I’ll start by taking inspiration from this mountain, which gives us peaks, valleys, and forests that awaken profound emotions within us. But those deep emotions — they’re frequencies, energy. I’ve always loved remembering the mountain for the echo phenomenon. You know what I mean? I used to do it as a child, as a teenager — I still do it. It’s so much fun because sending out a sound, especially your voice, bounces off the rocky walls and comes back transformed.

It fills the valley — you can picture it, right? How beautiful is that echo? It’s transformed. We’ll soon see why I’m showing you this image, because the phenomenon of echo is, in the future, a phenomenon of resonance. It’s not just a sound wave reflecting off the walls; it’s a quantum resonance, a quantum mirror. We’re stepping into the future.

And the source — it is and always will be the voice. The voice is the source, not just a sound that propagates. I want to share something important with you. Look at this little figure — his voice, his vibrations. Many cultures, ancient and modern, have known that for the voice to express its real power, the head must bow toward the heart — otherwise, nothing of our essence will come out. And it’s no coincidence that the heart lies halfway down.

The voice is the most powerful instrument we have to ground ourselves and to rise. If we don’t root ourselves, we cannot elevate. As Katia mentioned earlier, I’ve dedicated my life to this work — and I continue to, because one lifetime isn’t enough. One of the things I love most is identity and the voice. Why? You might ask. Because I travel the world with this, sharing it. You saw the fingerprint earlier — that’s our identity. And after 30 years of listening to voices, I’ve learned that hearing someone’s voice means knowing their past, present, and future. It may sound strange, but it’s real. When two identities and their frequencies meet, the voice becomes a bridge that connects us inwardly — I repeat, inwardly — because if it doesn’t connect within, it’s less than a sound. It doesn’t reach us — not across space, not across time.

Have you ever met someone only once, yet they became a lifelong friend? Or maybe someone who’s stayed in a lifelong relationship or chosen you in work or partnerships? Even more beautiful is when you hear the voice of someone who’s no longer with us — your heart starts beating faster, and you feel their presence there. Because, when two connected particles are apart, they’re never really separated — that’s quantum entanglement. The voice activates that phenomenon. It’s not just a memory — it’s a living feeling.

Over the years, I’ve had a lot of fun proving again and again that we shouldn’t limit the voice to just a tool for transmitting information. The voice isn’t a technical instrument to simplify or reduce. I’ve always been known as a revolutionary, a pioneer, someone who breaks norms — and I do that even here. Words like “tone,” so overused when talking about the voice, need to evolve. Look at what happens when we talk about tone — we shrink the quantum potential of something magical, mystical, mysterious. So, to me, the word tone doesn’t do it justice.

Then comes the word color. Again, it’s linear, sharp — and therefore limited. Even “color” doesn’t do it justice. Next comes volume. People often come to me saying, “I want more volume! My voice is too quiet, no one hears me!” And in pushing harder, many damage their vocal cords, develop reflux. Because they try to control volume with the mind, they lose connection with the ear — and again, volume alone isn’t enough.

Next is timbre. Many of my students are voice actors who say, “I want so-and-so’s timbre.” But if you copy someone else’s timbre, what do you lose? Your identity. It doesn’t do the voice justice. The same with pauses. So many follow “rules” — five seconds, fifteen seconds. They overthink it, disconnecting from their essence. The pause must align with your identity, your being, your emotion — not with a stopwatch.

Reality is complex. Even AI struggles to understand what the human voice truly transmits. Without that essence, it becomes robotic, emotionless — and what is poor in spirit delivers poverty in return.

Even without music, I still have it inside. The voice is a quantum instrument. Imagine it like this — each sound wave spinning through the theater, limitless, resonating through space, carrying emotion — the most important thing in life. If we don’t live emotion, what’s left of us?

Anyone who limits themselves to measurable concepts will never reach their essence — and they’ll never find their true voice. Many people ask me, “Is this really my voice? I don’t like it. I don’t recognize it.” If essence is missing, identity is missing.

The vibrations of the voice are meant to resonate with the heart. Even quantum research confirms that cells vibrate, organs vibrate, and spirit vibrates. Chinese medicine, which I love, teaches that each sound corresponds to specific organs, and that the harmony of vibration reflects the organ’s health.

Once, a professor from one of the world’s most prestigious universities — in Boston, where I live — shook my hand and said, “Milena, you have a great gift: your voice. Our research shows that those nearing the end of life stop communicating — they stop using their voice.” After that, we began collaborating.

I also travel the world to learn from indigenous peoples and integrate their frequencies. My favorites are the Māori. You probably know them for their haka — that powerful dance and chant. Their purpose is to chase away demons and negative energies. Interestingly, when I traveled from Australia — full of dangers — to New Zealand, I found it to be one of the safest places on Earth. No predators, no snakes. There’s a reason for that balance.

So I’ll leave you with a reflection: how do you feel your own voice? Some voices are timid or fragile; others are loud, aggressive, overpowering. But the ideal voice — the one we all can find — becomes calm, resonant, and aware. It grows stronger, richer in new frequencies, and fills you from within. You recognize it as yours. Communication, like an echo, returns to you — if the resonance is good, the result will be good.

To reach that, we must cleanse and recalibrate. When we do, our inner colors shift; we grow roots. The voice is the ultimate human expression of energy, frequency, and vibration. Once realigned, it grounds us, elevates us, and connects us with others.

The future — past, present, and beyond — lives in the voice, in communication, in passion, in those invisible frequencies that move us. Companies today no longer reward individual excellence but seek interpersonal connection. Many ask me, “What do I do to be selected — or to select others?” The answer is: learn to work together. Together we grow roots strong enough to support and lift us all.

Every idea I’ve ever had became reality through this. And I’ll close with a quote from Nikola Tesla: “If you want to understand the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency, and vibration.” And with a line I wrote and deeply love: the mind lies — the voice never does.

[Applause]
