When strength is only an appearance

Many people live believing they are strong, but deep down they feel that something is disturbing their peace of mind. They wake up every day with a sense of deep unease, feeling they must continue to maintain their credibility. But the truth is that this suffering does not come from being weak or sensitive, but from continuing to pretend to be strong.

Pretending to be something that is not part of us is a bit like wearing a suit that is too tight. In the long run, little by little, it tends to make your breathing shorter. What you believe shows confidence often only shows others your fear of appearing vulnerable, of failing, of disappointing others’ expectations.
